Youth Higher Education Scholarship Applications are Now Open!

Program and Application Guidelines


The Immunity Canada Youth Higher Education Scholarship is intended to support a
youth (aged 17-25) currently enrolled in a recognized Canadian higher education
program, and whose life has been affected by primary immunodeficiency.


Applicants are required to submit an essay demonstrating how primary
immunodeficiency has impacted their lives. Up to three (3) letters of support may also
be included.


Up to six scholarships will be awarded, subject to the number and quality of applications
received, adjudication may vary to include a greater number of awards. Awards will
range from $500 to a maximum of $3,000.


The successful applicant(s) will be informed August 1st. Public announcements will be
made at the Immunity Canada Annual General Meeting and Ontario Education Event in
Toronto October 26th, 2024.


Submission Deadline
All applications are due to be submitted to the following e-mail address:
whitney@immunitycanada.org by 12:00 pm (Pacific Time Zone) on Wednesday, July 31,
2024.

Eligibility


The applicant must:

  1. Be accepted and enrolled in a Canadian institution of higher education. This can be any
    of the following:
    a. Public or private university,
    b. Public college, or
    c. Institute of technology or art
  2. Be between the ages of 17-25
  3. Be affected by primary immunodeficiency disease

Instructions


● Application must be single-sided, single-spaced, using a 12-point font and
1-inch margins. Maximum of 3 pages.
● Each application must be submitted as a single PDF document and contain the
following items in the following order (described in applicant checklist) to be
considered complete.
Review Process and Evaluation
Awards will be made on a competitive basis. Submitted applications will be reviewed by
the CIPO Conference Committee and CIPO Board of Directors to confirm eligibility,
alignment with the goals of the scholarship and for ranking.
Criteria for evaluation will include:
● Academic excellence (candidate CV, letter of support)
● Personal Impact (personal essay)
● Extracurricular activities (if applicable)
● Volunteer activities (if applicable)
