Registration for the 2024 Walk for Immunodeficiency is now open!

Research Opportunity Ongoing

November 23, 2022

Families with children who have primary or secondary immune system conditions are eligible to take part in a study from the College of Nursing, University of Manitoba. This national study is looking at the lived experience of families with immunocompromised (IC) children during the pandemic. Participation in this study will provide important insights into the experience of families with children who are IC throughout the current COVID-19 and future crises. It will also help to provide recommendations for practice and policy to better prepare and support these families during such times. Any family with a child aged 5-25 anywhere in Canada is eligible to take part. Contact: ingauge@umanitoba.ca

Also, the Youth Advisory Committee is looking for more members to participate in. Here are the details:

  • We are also looking for youth with an immunocompromised condition and/or their youth siblings (ages 17-25) to be part of a Youth Advisory Committee (YAC).
  • Throughout the study, the YAC will give advice and input to Dr. Roberta Woodgate and her research team on different aspects of the study.
  • The YAC will meet around 3 – 4 times per year.
  • All activities are voluntary.
  • Members on the YAC will receive an honorarium for each meeting attended, as well as for any additional work outside of meetings.
  • No previous research experience is necessary.
  • If interested, please contact us at ingauge@umanitoba.ca or call (204)-480-1051
