Measles Update

As many of you will know, there have been reported cases of measles in the news. As of today, there have been 32 confirmed cases this year. The confirmed measles cases are in the following areas:

  • Quebec (1 confirmed case in Montreal)
  • Ontario (5 cases, 2 in Ottawa, 2 in Toronto)
  • Alberta (2 cases: 1 Calgary, 1 Leduc)
  • BC (23 confirmed cases: 5 South Island, 13 Vancouver, 1 Surrey, 4 Interior)

 

If you are currently on IG replacement therapy, you should be receiving measles antibodies. If you are concerned, please monitor the measles situation in your area closely. Although, you may not be immunized, your friends, family and colleagues can. Raise awareness and ensure your own safety through promoting immunization.
